5!!!!!!

Today was the BIG DAY!! This morning Chase came into my room and crawled in bed w/me.....he thought I was asleep and I could hear him saying "I'm so excited for my birthday" and "look at my presents"....it was fun to sit and listen to him talk to himself. So we got up, Dwight made chocolate chip pancakes w/whip cream, opened presents, put together some of the dreaded lego set and then went to church. Later in the evening, Uncle Erle, Aunt Debbie and Megan came over for pizza and ice cream. We had a mini party for him and he went to bed a happy camper!! I can't believe how fast the last 5 years have flown by......i remember the first 4 months of his life, thinking "when is this crying going to stop???!!!"....he was the grumpiest newborn, but has turned into the sweetest, fun loving 5 year old. I vow never to wish the years away.....Happy Birthday Chase!!!! I love you!!

birthday gifts...round 1

Thank you Nana and Papa Joe!! Today, Nana and Papa Joe's bday gift for Chase arrived.....for months I've been hearing how he wants the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Lego set, and that is exactly what he got!!! He was soooooooo excited, I wasn't though......it took me an hour just to put together the first 2 bags of legos.....Dwight can do the last two bags...the set came with 2 books of instructions....so in an effort to keep the set together longer I super glued it together, hopefully this will do the trick. Landon also got a package, which he was very excited about!! He loved his "nana and me" picture....when he opened it he said "it's my special picture of me and nana, i love it".....so sweet.

Today is the first day of school!! Yea for Chase b/c he gets to meet new friends and learn!! Yea for mom b/c she gets to take a nap, or have some quiet time while Chase is in school and Landon is napping!! Woohoo!! He is going to preschool at Wee School in downtown Erie.....it's a little red, 2 room schoolhouse.....so cute!! We are really looking forward to this school year.

Boulderfest

Tonight we went to the Boulderfest on Pearl Street with some friends. The boys had a great time watching performers, getting balloon swords and masks, and eating snow cones. It was a great evening spent with great friends!

this n' that

Thought I'd post a few pictures from everyday life around here. We've been hanging out waiting for school to start, which by the way is next tuesday. Along with the start of school, starts soccer and also the return from our 3 week break of swimming. Chase will be a busy bee!! Landon is going to start superbus gymnastics in a few weeks....he is super excited!!! I have a few more days to relish in the sanity of my life......then chaos begins!!
